2DEdge is a startup born in the framework of the program of ideas generation of the UAB Research Park. The mission of 2DEdge is to produce graphene of high quality, in a continuous and homogenous way, for applications in different types of industry.
Graphene is an allotrope of carbon having a flat lamellar structure, a single atom thick, composed of carbon atoms densely packed in a two-dimensional honeycomb-shaped crystalline network. This material is characterized by having a high thermal and electrical conductivity, and combining a high flexibility and lightness with extreme hardness.
