Escout presents its model Escout S for the USA market, a version specifically designed for the up growing sharing economy. This model will be marketed at a reduced price without compromising any specifications needed for everyday and popular uses such as vacation rentals, cleaning services, dogwalking services, etc.

Escout S will also employ Nordic’s multiple award-winning nRF51822 Bluetooth low energy System-on-Chip (SoC), one of the most popular BLE devices. Nordic’s BLE chipset is very much a multi-protocol device. It supports standard 2.4GHz proprietary radio functionality with three different data rates up to 2Mbps.

Nordic Superconductor nRF51822 running IPv6 opens the door to control the device over the internet, as opposed to using Wi-Fi (and at a much lower cost). This can become extremely appealing in the future for integration of the device in electronic home systems.
